Requirements for customer layouts for printing

Responsible prepress preparation of the layout is the key to success in the production of printed products. Neglecting the rules of prepress can significantly reduce the quality of the work as a whole, and sometimes even cast doubt on the very possibility of its implementation! To develop a high-quality layout, it is not enough just to be able to work in graphics programs; be able to correctly perform scanning, retouching, color correction, etc.

Original layouts are accepted on any USB-drives, HDD, CD or DVD discs of PC and Mac formats. You can send the layout to e-mail tm@triada-m.com. If the layout archive is too large to be sent as an email attachment, it can be sent to us using any free online file sharing service (eg www.fex.net). After that, send us an e-mail only a download link. Attention! Before sending files over the Internet, regardless of the amount of information, it is always necessary to archive them. This allows not only to save time by reducing the amount of transmitted data, but also to control errors that may occur during the transmission of information.

DO NOT USE self-extracting (EXE) archives. All such archives will be automatically deleted by our antivirus software! Sublimation printing layouts will have their own requirements.

1. When submitting materials and sketches in electronic form.

1.1. Store files in the format that is the main one for the program in which you are designing the layout (Photoshop - .PSD, Illustrator - .AI, CorelDraw - .CDR, etc.), while retaining as many editing options as possible (layers, effects, text , contours, etc.)

1.2. Text information is best provided as text files in .RTF, .TXT or .DOC format

1.3. All primary materials (files, digital images, photographs, printed products from which images were scanned, etc.) should preferably be added to the sketch separately in their original form (without changes).

1.4. Embedded images or images associated with a working prototype are recommended to be additionally submitted as separate files.

1.5. If possible, attach all used fonts as separate files or compile a list of the names of the used typefaces (if the use of these typefaces is essential).

1.6. For vector graphics programs (Illustrator, CorelDraw) it is desirable to have a copy of the file, all text fields of which have been converted to outlines.

2. Recommendations regarding the submission of photographic materials for printing.

2.1. As printed photos on glossy (not embossed) photo paper. At the same time, it is desirable that the size of the image in the photograph is not less than its future real size on printed matter, but not more than A4 format.

2.2. Photographic materials can be provided in the form of negatives or positives:

■ 35 mm film (35 mm slides) in strips of 6 frames or in frames;

■ 120/220 film frames (6 x 9 cm)

■ 4 x 5 inch film frames.

2.3. In electronic form - as a result of shooting with a digital camera.

Digital cameras usually offer several image saving formats: JPEG, TIFF, and RAW. It is better to give preference to the RAW format.

The JPEG format uses a data compression algorithm that causes an irreversible loss of quality, so it is not recommended to store images in this format for printing (let alone resave to JPEG many times) is not recommended. The TIFF format uses lossless compression, but unlike the RAW format, the files take up more space.
